2011 Regional Range, Adelaide Hills Chardonnay
Region
Adelaide Hills, South Australia
Vineyard
The grapes for this wine are sourced from multiple vineyards across the rolling terrain of the Adelaide Hills, 350 metres above sea level.
Winemaking
All parcels of Chardonnay were harvested in the cool of the night and gently pressed in the winery. Cool fermentation and post ferment lees stirring has added textural complexity. Only a portion of the wine has seen oak in order to keep it a fruit driven and balanced style. Flavours of nectarine, white peach, pineapple juice and guava are all complimented by a natural elegant acidity.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The wine shows white peach, nectarine and grapefruit aromas. These flavours also come through on the palate, which help balance the creaminess from the lees stirring, the hint of oak and a zesty acidity.
